Orlando Magic guard Gary Harris has undergone arthroscopic surgery to perform a meniscectomy in his left knee after suffering a meniscus tear, the Magic announced Thursday. No timetable has been provided for Harris’ return to action, as the team said that his return will depend on how he responds to rehabilitation and treatment. At this point, with the regular season set to start in less than two months, Harris being forced to miss at least some of the season seems like a real possibility.
Harris was initially traded to Orlando from the Denver Nuggets in March 2021, and the organization has been happy with what he’s brought to the table since. He signed a new two-year, $26 million deal with the Magic in June. Last season, Harris appeared in 61 games for Orlando — starting in 30 of them — and averaged 11.1 points, two rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 28.4 minutes per performance.
