After picking up an impressive win at home, the Philadelphia 76ers hit the road on Wednesday to take on the Charlotte Hornets and begin a 3-game road trip. It was the second night of a back-to-back for Philadelphia and considering the injuries they’re dealing with, the Hornets offered a big challenge.
The Hornets were missing LaMelo Ball, and that’s obviously a huge piece missing for Charlotte, but the Sixers missing Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey makes for a tough challenge on the road. The Hornets were able to make enough plays to come away with a 107-101 win.
Once again relying on an all-around effort, Shake Milton had 22 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, De’Anthony Melton had 20 points, six rebounds, and four steals, Tobias Harris added 19 points, and Montrezl Harrell added 16 and seven rebounds. Paul Reed had six and eight rebounds while Georges Niang added nine points while PJ Tucker had three points and seven rebounds.

De’Anthony Melton: B+
Obviously, somebody has to score with the team missing so many pieces, but Melton’s offensive game continues to be a bright spot for this group. He was terrific in the opening quarter as he set the tone for Philadelphia in the pick-and-roll. The Hornets played Mason Plumlee in drop coverage and Melton had easy opportunities to score in the mid-range. He was also such a pest on the defensive end as he continues to get comfortable with his new team. His negative was the turnovers as well as…
