Kansas will try to buck the trend of defending champions in the 2023 March Madness bracket. Kansas in 2016 that was the last overall No. 1 seed to advance past the Sweet 16, while Villanova (2017), Virginia (2018), Duke (2019) and Gonzaga (2021-22) have had short stays since then. The Jayhawks’ 2023 NCAA Tournament bracket starts on Thursday vs. No. 16 Howard, and they hope it concludes at the 2023 Final Four.
