For the fourth and final time during the 2022-23 NBA regular season, Dillon Brooks and the Memphis Grizzlies got a chance to tussle with the Warriors, the team with the hardware that they one day hope to possess themselves.

On Saturday night, Brooks and the Grizzlies got the last laugh, beating the Warriors 133-119 at FedExForum.

As is customary when the two Western Conference powers get together, there was considerable trash talk. There were no scuffles, no heated exchanges, only good, old-fashioned trash talk.

“Oh yeah,” Brooks said. “They got Draymond [Green] talking. They got Klay talking. So it’s easy to get ready for this game. I was ready. I only got four hours of sleep and I was already ready to go.”

While Steph Curry, Thompson and Green have made it known that the Warriors and Grizzlies aren’t rivals, the matchups over the last few seasons have been full of tension and included several dust-ups.
