Ben Simmons and ‘Frozen’ duo snag combo homes in the Olympia

The Olympia — a 33-story luxury tower in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood — is having a moment, drawing creatives in the entertainment, fashion and sports worlds. And now, news of new high-profile figures buying homes there is trickling out.

Australian-born Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons, a three-time NBA All-Star, has closed on a two-apartment combo deal on the 21st floor, creating an eight-bedroom, loft-like space for a total of $12 million, Gimme Shelter has learned.

The condo — not too far from Barclays Center — is 5,578 square and comes with 322 square feet of outdoor space. The dwelling boasts an open chef’s kitchen and ceilings as high as 11 feet.

“It’s so big, he could probably play basketball in the apartment,” quipped an insider with knowledge of the deal.

This purchase reveal comes nearly a year after Gimme reported that Simmons was in contract to purchase the combination home, which asked around $13 million. Around that time, tennis pro Naomi Osaka went with her entourage to tour the building as part of a house hunt.

The building has two more additions in terms of known residents, according to published reports in Crain’s and Mansion Global this week.

The Oscar-winning husband-and-wife songwriters responsible for the very catchy hit “Let It Go” from Disney’s “Frozen” — Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez — have plunked down $11.34 million for two similar units on the 24th floor.

Robert Lopez is a rare EGOT winner, meaning he is one of only 18 people who has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

At 48, he is also the youngest EGOT with the rare distinction of having won all of those awards twice. He co-created the hit shows “The Book of Mormon” and “Avenue Q,” while his wife’s credits include co-creating “In Transit.”

She, for her part, has won two Academy Awards and two Grammy Awards.

The larger of their two apartments, according to Mansion Global, is 2,849 square feet and boasts four bedrooms, views of the Brooklyn Bridge and a terrace that faces the East River. The smaller dwelling runs 1,485 square feet and has two bedrooms.

What’s more, a $17.5 million, 4,266-square-foot penthouse, we hear, is also in contract to a major entertainer.

Building amenities, 38,000 square feet of them, include a regulation-size tennis court, two pools, a two-lane bowling alley and a gym with a juice bar.
