Kansas State picked up their first road win of the season, traveling to Lubbock and knocking off Texas Tech.
It was a huge win for momentum, and it keeps them in the mix for the Big 12 title game later this year. Let’s take a look at some of the players that stood out for Kansas State.
QB Avery Johnson: 8/9, 77 yards passing; 12 carries, 91 yards, 5(!!!!) TDs
The easy answer. It’s Avery Johnson. He was far and away the MVP for this team tonight, providing a great change of pace to this offense and recording 5 (yes, I said 5) touchdowns on the ground, becoming the first QB since Collin Klein to rush for 5 TDs for Kansas State. It is too early to predict what the QB room looks like for next week and weeks ahead, but it is hard to imagine this team moves forward without giving Avery Johnson playing time, whether as a starter or a similar role as tonight. The future seems to be here quicker than expected, Cats fans. Embrace it.

They gave up only one sack tonight and helped Treshaun, DJ, Avery, and Co. to 273 yards on the ground.
TE Ben Sinnott: 6 catches, 72 yards
Wash, rinse, and repeat for Ben Sinnott this season. He has proven to be the centerpiece of this passing game and the most reliable pass catcher that Kansas State has. Not only to shout out his pass-catching and YAC ability, but his blocking has come such a long way from last season. He has turned himself into what appears to be a potential day 2 NFL draft pick.
DB Kobe Savage: 7 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 INT
Kobe Savage was exactly what the defense needed tonight. He was the leader on…
