College basketball transfer portal rankings 2023: Stanford’s Harrison Ingram commits to North Carolina

[ad_1]

North Carolina picked up one of the most dynamic players remaining on the transfer market Saturday when Harrison Ingram announced his commitment to the Tar Heels after playing the past two seasons at Stanford. A 6-foot-8 forward, Ingram ranked as a five-star prospect coming out of high school and was a McDonald’s All-American before averaging 10.5 points per game for the Cardinal 65 games.

He is ranked No. 10 in the CBS Sports transfer rankings and should be able to slot in as a versatile power forward next to returning star Armando Bacot in UNC’s frontcourt. Ingram is just a career 31.6% 3-point shooter but is also comfortable operating out of the high post and off the wing, which should allow him to compliment Bacot’s post-oriented game.

On the heels of a disappointing 20-13 season in which the Tar Heels missed the NCAA Tournament after ranking No. 1 in the preseason AP poll, coach Hubert Davis is in the midst of a modest roster remake. While stalwarts of past seasons such as as RJ Davis and Armando Bacot are returning, the supporting cast for the Tar Heels will look much different in 2023-24.

Brown transfer Paxson Wojcik and Notre Dame transfer Cormac Ryan are entering to bolster UNC’s outside shooting acumen while No. 31 ranked transfer Jae’Lyn Withers is entering from Louisville to provide length and versatility on the wing. But of the program’s incoming transfers, Ingram is the most highly touted.

Well over 1,000 Division I players have entered the portal and there are still weeks of player movement ahead before 2023-24 rosters will be even close to settled. Here at CBS Sports, we have distilled the massive number of transfers to a list of the top 40 names to know. This list will grow and player rankings will change as the May 11 deadline for players to enter the portal approaches.
