LeBron James has last laugh over Dillon Brooks after Lakers eliminate Grizzlies

The King has spoken.

The feud between Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks officially ended on Friday with Los Angeles’ 125-85 blowout Game 6 win to send Memphis home. And James got the last laugh on Instagram on Saturday.

James shared several highlights from the Lakers’ Game 6 win, including his unreal two-handed reverse dunk. He captioned the post with a viral freestyle from rapper Mystikal:  “If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR.”

It’s a direct response to Brooks, who called James “old” after Memphis’ Game 2 win: “I poke bears. I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40 (points).”

James not only put up 22 points and 22 rebounds in the Lakers’ Game 3 win, but Los Angeles proceed to blow out the Grizzlies by 40 points to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs to face either the Golden State Warriors or the Sacramento Kings.

James followed up his Instagram post on Saturday with a tweet featuring lyrics from Jay-Z’s 2006 song “Trouble,” from the rapper’s “Kingdom Come” album.

“Unlike you little (expletive), I’m a grown ass man. Big shoes to fill (expletive), grown ass pants. Prolly hustled with your pops, go ask your parents. Its apparent you’re staring at a legend. Who, put a few little (expletive) in the they place, before trying to eat without saying they grace before!”

Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks had some things to say about LeBron James after Wednesday night’s game.

The feud between James and Brooks started after Brooks’ comments following Memphis’ 103-93 Game 2 win to tie the series 1-1. The drama escalated in the Lakers’ 111-101 Game 3 win when James and Brooks exchanged words pregame and Brooks was ejected for a flagrant two foul for striking James in the groin.

“He’s a consummate professional,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham. “He doesn’t get caught up in a war of words. He goes out and speaks with his actions, speaks with his play.”
