Bulls’ Andre Drummond explains homage to Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill

With how the last two seasons have gone, the Chicago Bulls could look to make roster changes this summer. Arturas Karnisoavs has made it clear that they have no plans to rebuild, but that doesn’t mean everyone on the roster is safe. But for now, Chicago’s roster remains intact, and there are some characters on board.

One of whom, Andre Drummond, recently joined former NBA player Ryan Hollins for a chat on his show, NBA Rookie Life. During the conversation, Drummond spoke about a celebration he pulled out in a game when he was on the Brooklyn Nets. While on a fast break, Drummond threw up a peace sign before dunking the ball as an homage to Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill.

Drummond explained that his peace sign wasn’t intended to be a malicious act. He was just showing love to Hill.

“We were having a really good game against Miami,” Drummond said. “I think it was like my third game as a Brooklyn Net, and I was starting again, so I was really just feeling myself. And on top of that, Tyreek Hill had just signed to the Dolphins a couple of days before that. So, it was more of a homage play for him than really trying to insult anybody. So, that was what the peace sign was for. It was moreso just paying homage to one of my favorite players in the NFL.”

The Bulls big man let the Miami Heat know he was feeling himself that night. And who knows, maybe he’ll break out a celebration in honor of Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields next year.
