Sixers star James Harden ranked 7th-best player over the age of 30

Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden has a big decision to make in the summer as he decides on his basketball future. He will likely opt out of his current deal and enter free agency and, at that point, he and the Sixers will have to decide the best move forward.

Harden is coming off one of his more efficient seasons. He averaged 21 points, led the league in assists with 10.7, and he pulled down 6.1 rebounds. He also shot 38.5% from deep which is a career-high for him.

Complex Sports put together a list of the top players over the age of 30 and Harden, 33, comes in ranked 7th on the list:

The end to Harden’s season, and possibly tenure, with the Philadelphia 76ers was an ugly one. He scored just 22 combined points over the last two games of their series loss to the Boston Celtics, and is believed to have played a key role in the firing of head coach Doc Rivers. But in between those two stinkers, he did deliver two 40-point explosions against the Celtics, one of which was a Game 1 road win without Joel Embiid. After leading the NBA in assists for the season, Harden remains one of the premier point guards in the NBA. But he is clearly past his prime, and relying on him in tight spots still proves to be a risky proposition.

Harden is one phenomenal player still and while it is true that he is obviously past his prime, he can still be the second-best player on a championship-caliber team in order to help push them into the title conversation.
