DAN DEVINE: Bam Adebayo is a phenomenal defender, one of the very best in the NBA, one of the most versatile in the NBA. He’s 6 foot 9 and 255 pounds. He can only do so much to bother Jokic.

And when that’s true, when you don’t have anybody physically who can match up with him– not that anybody really has somebody physically that can match up with him– he just comes out, and he has 10 points and 10 assists on three shots in the first half, which I think is just so kind of special to his brand of brilliance. It forces you to have to make other choices with what your defensive scheme is going to be.

The Heat love to play zone. You can’t really play zone against Jokic because he’ll find the seams. He’ll find the passes. He’ll set up open shooters for 3. You can’t double-team him in the post because, as soon as you bring it to a second guy, he’s firing the ball to the corner for Michael Porter Jr. It presents just such an amazing amount of problems for any defense, and it’s going to be– you know, Miami’s biggest challenge in this series is, how do we keep him from getting everybody else involved and getting himself 25, 30 points? Because it seems like he can kind of do that whenever he feels like it.

JAKE FISCHER: I remember a coach saying this to me, that Jokic brings it every single night on offense. And in the Heat series– and, tonight, Jimmy Butler goes 6 for 14. All of their shooters basically outside of Gabe Vincent can’t buy a bucket from outside. The flip side, you know, Boston, you have Tatum with his streaky play dating back to that Sixers series, Jaylen Brown, you know, his inconsistencies. Joel Embiid, James Harden, you know, Anthony…
