Potential Philadelphia 76ers undrafted player profiles: Landers Nolley II

With the 2023 NBA draft right around the corner, Sixers Wire continues profiling players who could go undrafted and whom the Philadelphia 76ers could add to the roster after the draft.

The Sixers do not have a pick in the draft on June 22. They traded their first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets in the deal that brought James Harden to the City of Brotherly Love at the 2022 deadline, and they were docked second-round picks in 2023 and 2024 by the NBA for tampering.

However, that doesn’t mean the Sixers will or should be inactive around the draft process. There will be a number of talented players who go undrafted, meaning the Sixers should be able to add a young player who could potentially become a rotation piece.

Next up in this series is Cincinnati forward Landers Nolley II.

Strengths

Nolley II averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 41.7% from deep on 6.4 attempts per game. The Sixers could always use a guy who can shoot the ball as well as defend on the other end of the floor. He doesn’t have natural agility or much explosion, but he is a smart player and he uses his strength to his advantage.

What is going to attract Nolley II either in the draft or afterward is his shooting. He will certainly have to add more to his offensive game in order to stick in the league, but his shooting stroke is NBA-ready and he is somebody the Sixers can develop into an all-around player. He projects as a catch-and-shoot player at the moment.

Weaknesses

As mentioned, Nolley II doesn’t present much more on offense other than his shooting stroke. He has begun to show some creativity on his drives, but in order to be a rotational player, he will have to add more on the offensive end as well as improve on defense as well. The attributes he has on his side are his competitiveness and his ability to switch seamlessly on the defensive end.

Mock draft projection

The latest mock draft by Rookie Wire does not have Nolley II being selected.
