College basketball transfer portal 2024: Ranking top 50 players as Skyy Clark commits to UCLA

Skyy Clark is headed home for his junior season. The former top-40 prospect will return to Los Angeles to play for UCLA, he announced Wednesday. It will be Clark’s third school in three years after the L.A. native began at Illinois and then spent the 2023-24 season at Louisville.

With the Bruins looking to bounce back from a 16-17 season, Clark should be able to compete for a prominent role. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 13.2 points and shot 35.3% from 3-point range for a bad Louisville team. When it comes to facilitating an offense, Clark has strides to make to realize his full potential as he’s struggled with turnovers early in his career.

With two seasons left to play, he could still grow into an impact player. Clark left the 2023-24 season on a high note by scoring 36 points on 12 of 17 shooting in Louisville’s loss to NC State in the ACC Tournament.

The spring portal window opened on March 18 and will remain open until May 1. However, players who have entered the portal by then don’t face a firm deadline on when they must commit. Additionally, graduate transfers and players impacted by coaching changes that occur after May 1 will be able to transfer after the deadline. Players who have also entered the NBA Draft will have until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on May 29 to withdraw if they wish to return to college for the 2024-25 season.
