2024 NBA playoffs bracket, schedule, scores, games today: Celtics, Pacers set for Game 2 of East finals

The conference finals are underway in the 2024 NBA playoffs, and the Mavericks and Celtics have 1-0 series leads. Led by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving — who combined for 63 points on Wednesday night — the Mavericks got a Game 1 win on the road over the Timberwolves to kick off the Western Conference finals.

In the East, the top-seeded Celtics are up 1-0 against the Pacers after an overtime win in Game 1. Boston coughed up a second-half lead and Indiana looked primed to steal Game 1 on Tuesday night, but a few costly Pacers turnovers and a game-tying 3-pointer from Jaylen Brown sent the game to OT as the Celtics pulled it out. Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals is set for Thursday night.

Regardless of which of the four remaining teams wins the 2024 title, the NBA will have its sixth different champion in six years — something that has not happened since 1975-1980.

The postseason field started with 20 teams, and now we’re down to four. The Warriors, Kings, Hawks and Bulls were ousted in the Play-In Tournament before the Pelicans, Suns, Clippers, Lakers, Heat, 76ers, Bucks and Magic were eliminated in the first round. The Cavs, Thunder, Knicks and Nuggets were sent home in the second round.
