In three months, Duke basketball will be in Atlanta to play Kentucky as part of the Champions Classic in one of the highlights of the early-season college basketball schedule.
The Blue Devils will have a mostly different look entering the 2024-25 season, replacing nine players with 10 newcomers, including four transfer portal additions and six freshmen.
Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster are the holdovers. That duo will be joined by Cooper Flagg, among others, in Jon Scheyer’s third season as head coach.
But it’s never too early to look ahead at who’s in the mix to join the Blue Devils ahead of the 2025-26 season. Here’s an update on four players in the 2025 class, each of whom have Duke among their final choices.
Duke basketball could be favorite to land Shelton Henderson
A 6-foot-5 small forward from Texas, Henderson is a top-25 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. Scheduled to make an official visit to Durham during Countdown to Craziness on Oct. 4, Henderson is down to six schools. The Blue Devils are the favorite to land Henderson, who could be Duke’s next star on the wing.
Netherlands standout Dwayne Aristode rising star in 2025 class
A 6-foot-7 wing out of Brewster Academy, Aristode is No. 18 in the 247Sports Composite. Scheduled to visit Michigan State in late August and Duke in September, the Dutch star hasn’t officially received a scholarship offer from the Blue Devils. Still, Aristode is a major target as a rising star in the 2025 class.
Braylon Mullins scheduled to visit Duke, UNC
The Indiana sharpshooter is flying a bit under the radar, but he’s a top 100 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite. Mullins, who has visits scheduled for Duke and North Carolina, is considered a top-5 shooting guard by 247Sports.
