UNC basketball recruitment is continuing to make noise among the Top 30 recruits in the upcoming class. While the team is still waiting on its first official signee, it has been linked in some capacity to everyone from Isaiah Denis to the No. 1 overall recruit in AJ Dybantsa.

Unfortunately, just yesterday, the team lost a player to another blue blood when Malachi Moreno, a player UNC basketball was formerly linked to, signed with the University of Kentucky.

Another recruit joins the ranks of top prospects as 6-foot-8 forward Nikolas Khamenia narrowed his field down to just five remaining programs he is choosing from. One of those programs is the Tar Heels.

The other four programs joining the Tar Heels in Khamenia’s final five are Arizona, Gonzaga, UCLA, and archrival Duke. UNC is joined by prestigious programs and will be tough competition for the services of the four-star forward.

On3’s Jaime Shaw had this to say about Khamenia:

He is a quick processor with excellent passing touch from different levels on the floor. Khamenia is a smooth shooter off the catch and has deep range when stepping into shots from three.

The Tar Heels have yet to land a recruit in the 2025 class so getting a visit and being in the top five for Khamenia is huge. Let’s see if they can reel him in and secure a commitment.
