Aug. 22—Bedlam basketball will be played again this year.
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have finalized a contract to play a game on Dec. 14 at Paycom Center, per a report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
In June, OSU coach Steve Lutz said it was important for the programs to continue the series, despite OU’s departure for the SEC.
“Let’s just be honest. Cowboys don’t like Sooners,” Lutz said at the time. “It’s great for our state. Everybody wants to be able to say, ‘This is the year that we beat the Sooners in basketball.’ It’s bragging rights and all those things that come with it.”
The Cowboys most recently played at Paycom Center on Dec. 11 against Tulsa. The atmosphere was somewhat lacking for a college basketball game, but the hope is to have a good crowd with 50-50 splits for OSU and OU fans.
OSU has confirmed nonconference games with Green Bay, Seton Hall and Oklahoma, as well as its participation in the Charleston Classic. The complete schedule has not yet been announced.
