Sep. 8—CHAMPAIGN — An upset of Kansas left Illinois just outside today’s AP Top 25 poll.
The unbeaten Illini received 101 votes from the national panel, including The News-Gazette’s Bob Asmussen. That left Bret Bielema’s team at No. 26 behind Northern Illinois, which upset Notre Dame on Saturday.
The Illini host Central Michigan on Saturday.
