It feels like every few months for years now, the question has come up: When will Michigan State basketball head coach Tom Izzo retire?
Izzo was asked that question again this week by Bleacher Report’s Seth Davis, and he gave an interesting, but predictable answer.
Izzo, who also revealed that he underwent hip surgery this year, said that it won’t be age or illness that drives him to leave the sport, but it would be the state of college sports itself that eventually will make him retire, likely alluding to the state of NIL and the transfer portal.
