FAMU women’s basketball announces 2024-2025 schedule, will play against Florida State

The Florida A&M Rattlers women’s basketball team is set to embark on an exciting 2024-25 season, featuring a competitive slate of games against both high major non-conference opponents and SWAC rivals.

“I’m super ecstatic about year two and my new additions to our sisterhood,” said head coach Bridgette Gordon. “There is a tough task ahead of us with our non-conference schedule, which we hope will prepare us for our SWAC season.

“My goals for my ladies are to compete, outwork our opponents, play with passion, respect the game, win more games in non-conference and conference, have fun, and make Rattler Nation proud.”

The season tips off on November 4, 2024, with the Rattlers hosting Howard, followed by a trip down to Gainesville to play the Florida Gators on November 7. The Rattlers will return home to travel across the tracks to play the Seminoles on November 11, followed by three more road games at Jacksonville, West Georgia, and Central Florida.

The Rattlers will return home to host Middle Tennessee on November 26 before heading to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech on December 1. The Rattlers will return to the Highest of Seven Hills to play North Florida on December 7. They will travel to Samford on December 20 for their final road non-conference game and return home to host Thomas University on December 29 for their final non-conference game.

Highlights of the non-conference schedule include games against Bethune-Cookman in the first game of 2025 on January 4 in Tallahassee and finishing the season against the Wildcats in Daytona Beach on March 8. The Rattlers will also have home and home games with Southern, Grambling, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Alcorn State, and Jackson State.

The Rattlers host Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State while traveling to Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern.
