UNC basketball fans react to Tar Heels’ 2024-2025 ACC schedule release

It’s almost basketball season in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with the Tar Heels just over a month away from taking the court for their first official game.

UNC will kick its 2024-2025 campaign off against in-state opponent Elon on Monday, Nov. 4 inside the Dean Dome. North Carolina plays a pretty challenging non-conference schedule, highlighted by matchups against Alabama, Florida, UCLA and Dayton, then hops into its ACC slate in early December.

Speaking of the Tar Heels’ ACC schedule, it was released on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. ET. We’re here to showcase all each UNC opponent – then give you fan reactions to it.

North Carolina’s first ACC game is on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. against Georgia Tech. The Tar Heels then close out December with the rest of their non-conference schedule, with their second ACC game against Louisville slated for New Year’s Day.

UNC’s January ACC matchups include Notre Dame (4th), conference newcomer SMU (7th), a revenge game with NC State (11th), two more ACC newbies in Cal (15th) and Stanford (18th), Wake Forest (21st), Boston College (25th) and Pitt (28th).

North Carolina starts its February slate at archrival Duke (1st), then returns home the following weekend to host Pitt (8th). The Tar Heels then play consecutive road games at Clemson (10th) and Syracuse (15th), followed by two straight home games against NC State (19th) and Virginia (22nd), before ending February at Florida State (24th).

UNC plays just three games in March: at home against Miami (1st), in Blacksburg, Va. at Virginia Tech (4th) and closing the regular season out against Duke (8th).
