SOUTH BEND − Maybe this is the year for Notre Dame men’s basketball.
This is the year that the Irish become must-see at Purcell Pavilion. That tickets are so scarce that you can’t go to the school’s website and buy upward of 12 together hours before tip-off. This year you must see this team in person.
Maybe this won’t be the year Notre Dame starts a stretch of 45 consecutive home wins, as was the case from 2006 to 2009 when no team in the country was better at home than the Irish. Notre Dame went 9-8 at Purcell Pavilion last season. Since the post-COVID year of 2020-21, the program has had only two home sellouts (both in 2021-22).

Maybe that changes this season under second-year coach Micah Shrewsberry, who has promised a more exciting, up-tempo style this winter. The Irish will run more. The Irish look to score more. Will the Irish win more? Will fans notice?

☘ How to buy Notre Dame men’s basketball tickets
Notre Dame men’s basketball hasn’t been the toughest of tickets in recent years. Good seats – sometimes great seats – have still been available even on gamedays. You can go to Seat Geek (https://seatgeek.pxf.io/Y9r91r) or StubHub (https://tinyurl.com/ycy3f3x8) or even the school’s athletics website at FightingIrish.com (https://tinyurl.com/43a9pc4b) and search for any seat from Wednesday’s home opener to the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week to the season finale in March against ACC colleague California.
There’s not a bad seat in Purcell Pavilion, which means a good seat is always available.
