Jackson State men’s basketball has claimed a second in-state commitment.
Booneville forward Kedrick Simmons announced his commitment to the Tigers on Tuesday.
Simmons wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “110% committed, Home.”
The 6-foot-6, 180-pound senior is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports, and is the No. 3 recruit in Mississippi and No. 79 overall small forward in the 2025 class. Simmons chose the Tigers over offers from Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Murray State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Simmons is the second recruit in the 2025 class from Mississippi to commit to JSU. He joins Germantown’s Mike Williams, the son of JSU coach Mo Williams.

JSU already has Yazoo City’s Tamarion Hoover and Pascagoula’s Dorian McMillian on its roster from the 2024 recruiting class.
