The first week of the Oregon men’s basketball season continues Friday with a 7 p.m. nonconference game against Montana at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Ducks (1-0) are coming off an impressive opening night win against UC Riverside on Monday when four players scored in double figures as Oregon beat the Highlanders at home, 91-76.
The Ducks’ frontcourt led the way as forward Kwame Evans Jr. scored a career-high 23 and center Nate Bittle had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Grizzlies (1-0) also opened the season with a win on Monday, beating Hawaii-Hilo, 92-61
Montana was picked as the preseason coaches’ poll favorite to win the Big Sky Conference. It was picked second in the preseason media poll.
Senior guard Brandon Whitney was named to the preseason all-Conference team.
