Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears Jr. celebrates a 3-pointer against Ferris State during the second half on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, in East Lansing.
For another week, Michigan State basketball is not listed in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll.
The updated top 25 came out on Monday, and Michigan State was once again on the outside. The Spartans received 41 votes, which would unofficially put them at No. 31 in the updated poll.
The Big Ten had only four teams ranked this week, with Purdue leading the way at No. 13. Behind the Boilermakers was Indiana at No. 16, Ohio State at No. 21 and Rutgers at No. 24. Illinois was the first team outside of the poll.
Michigan State picked up a pair of wins in the opening week of the season, with both games being blowouts. The Spartans will carry that 2-0 record into Tuesday night’s massive matchup against No. 1 Kansas in the annual Champions Classic event.
