UNH men’s basketball team falls at home

Nov. 12—The UNH men’s basketball team fell behind early and never recovered in a 62-56 loss to Fairfield on Tuesday night at Lundholm Gym in Durham.

The Wildcats (1-3) trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half and lagged by eight (38-30) at halftime.

After falling behind by double digits once again in the second half, UNH eventually pulled to within three (59-56) on a Sami Pissis 3-pointer with 1:53 remaining. But the Wildcats missed their last two shots, both 3-point attempts, and the Stags (1-2) salted it away on a Jamie Bergens 3-pointer with eight seconds remaining.

Anthony McComb III, a junior transfer from Bowling Green, led UNH with 17 points.

The Wildcats get back into action over the weekend at Brown University’s College Hill Classic in Providence. They play three games in three days, against the hosts (Friday night), Sacred Heart (Saturday) and Holy Cross (Sunday).
