The men’s basketball team welcomed Fairleigh Dickinson to Lincoln following a close 63-58 win over Bethune-Cookman. The Huskers took down the Knights 86-60 to start the season 3-0 for the second straight year.
Nebraska finished 28-of-65 from the field, rebounding from its 19-of-55 outing from Saturday. The Huskers also shot 23-of-28 from the foul line, while Fairleigh Dickinson landed just 7-of-11. The Knights also delivered 23-of-57 from the field.
Nebraska capitalized on possession changes, scoring 28 points off 18 turnovers and outrebounding Fairleigh Dickinson 43-31.
Juwan Gary once again led the way for the Huskers, tallying up a team-high 19 points, five assists, and seven free throws. Berke Büyüktuncel hauled in a team-high seven rebounds while scoring 12 points after going 4-of-6 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.
Brice Williams scored double-digits on the night, racking up 10 points after shooting 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. He also snatched six rebounds for Nebraska.
The Huskers hit the road north to Sioux Falls, where they’ll face off against Saint Mary’s on Sunday. Tipoff is set for noon on Big Ten Network.
