How does Alabama basketball big man Clifford Omoruyi stack up against Purdue?

For each season that Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats has been with the Crimson Tide, big man Clifford Omoruyi has a game against Purdue.

Three appearances in Mackey Arena with six total against Purdue (3-0) see the Rutgers transfer enter Friday’s matchup as UA’s most experienced player against coach Matt Painter and the Boilermakers.

At Thursday’s media availability ahead of the team’s departure for West Lafayette, Indiana, Oats said he’s heard Purdue’s venue is the “best environment in the Big Ten.”

“I was never able to get to Purdue so this will be my first time in there, but Cliff tells us it’s a great environment,” Oats said.

With Purdue starting center Daniel Jacobsen out with a broken bone in his tibia suffered against Northern Kentucky, it’ll be hard to take eyes off of Omoruyi’s lurching 6-foot-11 frame and 7-6 wingspan. Granted Purdue brings 7-2 sophomore Will Berg off the bench in Jacobsen’s place.
