Nov. 15—WILLMAR — The Ridgewater men’s basketball team stormed back from a 22-point deficit to stay undefeated.
The Warriors improved to 3-0 with a 95-86 victory over the Gustavus Adolphus JV on Friday at Ridgewater College.
Ridgewater trailed 41-19 with 6 minutes, 35 seconds left in the first half. The Warriors cut that deficit to 52-40 at halftime.
With Gustavus ahead 79-69 with 7:05 to play, the Warriors went on a 19-0 run. Aiden Wichmann hit a 3-pointer with 4:52 left to put Ridgewater ahead for good, 80-79.
Wichmann and Michael Henderson led the run. Wichmann, a sophomore from Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, scored seven of his 17 points in the run. Henderson, a sophomore from Mankato West, put up eight of his 10 points in that span.
DeAndre Holloway led the Warriors with 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting. The freshman from Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg also had 17 rebounds and five blocks.
Off the bench, Tyrese Mayo scored 18 points and Isaac Post put up 12 points. Mayo is a freshman from Winter Haven, Florida. Post is a freshman from MACCRAY.
Ridgewater hosts the Concordia-Moorhead JV at 5 p.m. Monday.
