Clemson basketball’s Chase Hunter scores career-high 30 points, not enough vs Boise State

CLEMSON — Clemson basketball guard Chase Hunter scored a career-high 30 points in the Tigers’ 84-71 loss to Boise State on Sunday at ExtraMile Arena.

The Tigers (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season in their first road game against the Broncos (3-1), but Hunter produced immensely. He shot 12-for-21, including four-made 3-pointers, and added six assists and three steals.

“Chase was fantastic,” Clemson coach Brad Brownell said postgame. “I thought he played at an elite level.”

Hunter is averaging 19.8 points on 59% shooting and 52% from 3-point range over four games this season— all career highs. His previous career high in points was 26 against Florida State in January 2023.

Hunter returned for his sixth season to boost his NBA draft stock after he tested the waters in the offseason. He has blossomed into Clemson’s leader and leading scorer this year and will look to carry his early momentum as the season continues.

Clemson returns to Littlejohn Coliseum on Thursday (7 p.m. ET, ACC Network Extra) to face Radford (3-1).
