Live score: UL men’s basketball host Rice

Louisiana men’s basketball returns home for another non-conference tilt on the young 2024-25 college basketball season.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (1-2) are looking forward to being back in the comforts of the Cajundome after their road game against No. 7 Houston ended with a 91-45 loss. Although that marks their second loss of the season, punching above your weight class can help the Cajuns improve. The chance to showcase that improvement is now as they host Rice for a night game showdown against the Owls.

Last time UL took on the Owls (3-1) was last year, in which the Cajuns came away with a dominating 84-67 victory. This go-round the Cajuns’ rising scoring trio senior guard Kentrell Garnett, junior guard Mostapha El Moutaouakkil, and junior guard Koron Davis will look to lead them to victory. All three players are currently averaging 10 points or more per game with Garnett leading UL’s offense with 10.7 points per game.

A win for the Cajuns will even out their record while a win for Rice would put them on a three-game winning streak and be their first road win of the season.

Tip-off for this nonconference battle is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be the Cajuns’ last home game before they are off to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam tournament that starts on Nov. 22.
