Three Tennessee basketball players did not practice before facing Virginia in Bahamas

Tennessee basketball is dealing with a handful of injuries before a pair of games in the Bahamas as guards Chaz Lanier and Cam Carr did not practice Tuesday.

Carr appeared to suffer a left hand injury against Austin Peay on Sunday, while Lanier was dealing with a migraine.

Carr was hurt with 7:10 to play against Austin Peay. He tumbled to the court when he was fouled by Govs guard LJ Thomas. He grabbed his left thumb and wrist as his teammates helped him up. Carr hit one of the two free throws before checking out of the game. He did not return. Carr is averaging 4.8 points in 10.5 minutes per game.

No. 9 Tennessee (4-0) plays first game of the Baha Mar Championship against Virginia (3-0) on Thursday (9:30 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network). UT faces either Baylor or St. John’s on Friday in its second game in the tournament in the Bahamas.

J.P. Estrella is dealing with a foot injury. The sophomore forward did not play against Austin Peay. He was not a full participant during UT’s practice Tuesday at Pratt Pavilion.

The 6-foot-11, 241-pound Estrella had a career-high eight points against Montana on Nov. 13. He is averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per game. He played through an ankle injury in the season opener against Gardner Webb.

Darlinstone Dubar has yet to play in the regular season while dealing with a personal matter. The senior guard has been slowly returning to action in practice and working toward playing.

Tennessee only has 11 scholarship players this season.
