The Oregon Duck men’s basketball team gathers off court before their game against Troy at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.

The undefeated Oregon men’s basketball team hits the road for the first time this season.

It’ll be a short trip, however.

The Ducks (4-0) will play Oregon State (4-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday inside Gill Coliseum in Corvallis in the first nonconference game between the longtime rivals since they met in the 1996 Far West Classic tournament in Portland.

Oregon has won seven straight against the Beavers, including four straight in Gill Coliseum. The last three games in Corvallis haven’t been easy, with each coming down to the final seconds. The Ducks won 60-58 last season, 69-67 in 2023 and 78-76 in 2022.

“We have had some close ones over there,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “Hopefully we won’t take it to the last possession again.”

Center Nate Bittle (14.5 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game), guard TJ Bamba (12.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg), guard Jadrian Tracey (11.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg) and guard Brandon Angel (10.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg) lead the Ducks through four games.

Oregon got a boost on Sunday with the debut of forward Supreme Cook, who had 11 points and five rebounds in 13 minutes of playing time against Troy. He missed the Ducks’ first three games while recovering from an offseason knee procedure.

Oregon State has a revamped lineup with four new starters, including Nate Kingz, a transfer from College of Southern Idaho who starred for McNary High School in Keizer. He leads the team in scoring at 16.8 points per game and has a team-high 13 3-pointers while shooting 56.6% from that range.

Returning forward Michael Rataj is averaging 15.3 points and 9.5 rebounds. Guard Damarco Minor, a transfer from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, is averaging 11.3 points and 5.0 assists.

“He’s done a tremendous job of piecing a lot of new guys together,” Altman said of Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle. “It’ll be a challenge for both of us. They’ve played well and…
