FSU basketball takes down Temple in Day 1 of Naismith Basketball Hall of fame Tipoff

Day 1 of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff is in the books, and Florida State Basketball (5-1) is off to a winning start inside the Mohegan Sun Center.

FSU won, 78-69, over the Temple Owls (3-2) on Friday in Uncasville, Connecticut, and improved to 5-1 on the season.

Jamir Watkins led the way with 19 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Most of his points were free throws, as he was 10 for 13 at the line.

Malique Ewin and Chandler Jackson also reached double figures. Ewin, who had three points in the first half, had nearly a double-double after dropping 15 points and nine rebounds. Jackson added 10 points.

FSU will return to the court on Sunday to take on UMass (1-3) at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
