Iowa State basketball: 3 things to watch when Cyclones play Auburn at Maui Invitational

Iowa State men’s basketball has an opportunity to make a grand entrance at the Maui Invitational.

The fifth-ranked Cyclones (3-0) are taking on the No. 3 Auburn Tigers in a battle of top-five teams in the Maui Invitational quarterfinals Monday.

The Tigers (4-0) rose up the rankings after defeating Big 12 heavyweight Houston, 74-69, in the first week of the season. They also defeated Vermont, Kent State and North Alabama in lopsided fashion.

Iowa State cyclones guard Keshon Gilbert (10) drives to the basket around IU Indianapolis Jaguars guard Jarvis Walker (4) during the first half in the NCAA men’s basketball at Hilton Coliseum on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, in Ames, Iowa.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT. The game will be available on ESPNU.
