If the oddsmakers’ predictions hold true, the near future looks bright for Baylor. They will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the New Orleans Privateers at 2:00 p.m. ET at Foster Pavilion. The Bears are strutting in with some offensive muscle as they’ve averaged 84 points per game this season.

Baylor is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Tennessee just ended the team’s four-game winning streak on Friday. The match between them and the Volunteers wasn’t a total blowout, but with Baylor falling 77-62 on the road it was darn close to turning into one. The matchup marked the Bears’ lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Baylor had strong showings from Norchad Omier, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and VJ Edgecombe, who posted 20 points along with two steals. Edgecombe’s performance made up for a slower game against St. John’s on Thursday.

Even though they lost, Baylor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Orleans). They came out on top against Tulane by a score of 93-87 on Friday. The Privateers’ win was a heroic effort that saw the team overcome a 18.5 point disadvantage in the spread.

New Orleans can attribute much of their success to James White, who earned 31 points plus eight rebounds.
