Anthony Davis Faces Extended Absence After Injuring Left Adductor in Mavericks Debut

Anthony Davis has been traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Luka Dončić and has already made his appearance on the court in Texas.

While some fans expressed their dissatisfaction outside the American Airlines Center over the Mavericks’ decision to part ways with Dončić, Davis put on an impressive performance in his debut, although he suffered an injury late in the third quarter.

Initially, it seemed the injury was not severe; however, Marc Stein reports that the former NBA champion with the Lakers may be out for several weeks due to a left adductor strain.

The timeline for Davis’ return is still uncertain, and Stein notes that there are concerns he could be out for an extended period.

In his first game with the Mavericks against the Houston Rockets, Davis recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks before getting hurt. Currently, he is averaging 25.7 points, 12 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks over 43 games this season.
