Following Luka Doncic’s move to the Los Angeles Lakers and Anthony Davis’s transfer to the Dallas Mavericks, another significant trade took place last night in the NBA.
As reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, Victor Wembanyama is set to receive some support in San Antonio, as the Spurs successfully acquired De’Aaron Fox from Sacramento in a multi-team deal that also includes Zach LaVine being sent from Chicago to the Kings.
The Sacramento Kings have also welcomed French guard Sidy Cissoko, in addition to acquiring “three first-round picks (Charlotte’s in 2025, San Antonio’s in 2027, and Minnesota’s in 2031) and three second-round picks (Chicago’s in 2025, Denver’s in 2028, and a return of their own 2028 pick from Chicago),” according to ESPN.
Furthermore, the Chicago Bulls reclaimed their first-round pick for the 2025 NBA Draft while also adding Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and Kevin Huerter from Sacramento to their roster. Meanwhile, the Spurs secured Jordan McLaughlin from the Kings.
At 27 years old, this marks De’Aaron Fox’s first team change since he began his NBA career in 2017, ending his eight-year tenure in Sacramento. During the 2024-25 Regular Season, he has been putting up impressive numbers, averaging 25.0 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.
