Confirming earlier forecasts, prior to the surprising blockbuster trade between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers that has sent shockwaves through the basketball community, Luka Doncic may be ready to take the court and make his debut with the Lakers on Saturday.
Currently listed as injured with a left calf strain, the 25-year-old Slovenian guard observed his new team dominate the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome on Tuesday. It is anticipated that he will also miss Thursday’s game against the Golden State Warriors at the crypto.com Arena. Nevertheless, there is a sense of hope regarding his participation in the upcoming home game against the Indiana Pacers as part of the NBA Saturday series.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Shams Charania provided an update on this timeline during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

After the Lakers’ convincing victory over the Clippers, LeBron James shared his thoughts on Doncic joining the team.
“When I first heard the news, I was certain it was a hoax,” he said. “But after talking to AD on FaceTime for a while, it still felt surreal even after I hung up. It didn’t truly sink in until I saw Luka today and watched the clip of AD at the Dallas shootaround. That’s when reality struck.”
Even LeBron is finding it hard to believe that Luka is officially a Laker!
LeBron James: “Look, Luka [Doncic] is a phenomenal talent. At just 25, he hasn’t even hit his peak yet, and he has already accomplished incredible feats in our league… I’m thrilled to have him, and LA is excited to welcome him.” pic.twitter.com/4XTRE6Zv0M
