Headline: Federal Probe Launched into Terry Rozier Amid Suspicious Betting Patterns, NBA Finds No Violations

The NBA has acknowledged that a game featuring Terry Rozier from two years ago is currently under federal scrutiny, linked to the same investigation that resulted in the lifetime suspension of Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter.

At the time, Rozier was a member of the Hornets, and as reported by the Wall Street Journal, he has not been charged with any offenses nor accused of any misconduct.

The league stated that it conducted its own inquiry into the game and found no violations.

“In March 2023, we were notified of unusual betting patterns concerning Terry Rozier’s performance in a matchup between Charlotte and New Orleans,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass remarked in a statement initially shared with the Wall Street Journal.

“The NBA undertook an investigation and found no breaches of its rules. We are now aware of a probe by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York regarding this issue and have been cooperating fully.”

Rozier’s attorney, Jim Trusty, stated, “We acknowledge the NBA’s investigation in 2023, which concluded there was no wrongdoing by Mr. Rozier, and we are confident that the ongoing federal inquiry will reach the same outcome.”

The Miami Heat, who currently have Rozier on their roster, have refrained from commenting on the matter.
