Headline: Giannis on Future Father-Son NBA Duo: Dont Know If I Got That in Me

Numerous instances of athletes collaborating with their sons in professional sports have emerged, such as LeBron and Bronny playing together for the Los Angeles Lakers. Giannis Antetokounmpo hinted at a similar achievement with his eldest son, Liam.

During the All-Star weekend, while being filmed for an All-Access segment on Google Pixel, Giannis appeared enthusiastic at first but soon scaled back his expectations after reflecting on the timeline.

“No, because…,” Giannis replied to the inquiry, leading to a brief exchange.

“I’m hopeful, as I believe in manifesting my aspirations. I wish to be the next, but…,” he went on to explain, “My eldest son is just 5.”

Liam was born in February 2020, and since then, the Antetokounmpo family has welcomed Maverick in 2021 and Eva in 2023, with his wife, Mariah Riddlesprigger, currently expecting their fourth child.

“I’m not sure I have it in me,” he remarked, acknowledging the need to play for 13 more seasons until Liam turns 18.

“Maybe. You never know,” he added, making a comparison to veteran players taking on limited roles as their careers wind down.

Having devoted his entire professional journey to the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis is currently in his 12th season of the NBA after being selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2023 draft.

The Greek star was sidelined from the 2025 All-Star Game due to a left calf strain but is anticipated to return to action soon, aiming to propel the Bucks towards a playoff spot, which would mark his ninth appearance in the postseason.
