Just a few days prior, the 21-year-old generational talent had made a notable appearance in his inaugural All-Star Game.
During his second year in the NBA, Wembanyama was achieving impressive averages of 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, as he aimed to lead the Spurs to a spot in the Western Conference Play-In tournament.
It remains uncertain whether he will be able to represent France in the upcoming 2025 FIBA EuroBasket tournament.
