Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic were included in the pool of potential starters for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, representing the Eastern and Western Conferences respectively.
Alongside these international stars hailing from Greece and Serbia, the Eastern Conference list featured Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, and Karl-Anthony Towns, while the Western Conference roster included Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and LeBron James.
The NBA revealed the results on Thursday.
According to the official announcement: “The starters for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game were chosen through a combination of fan submissions, current NBA players’ votes, and a media panel. Fans contributed 50% of the total votes, with players and media each accounting for 25%.”
Following the completion of the voting process, players were categorized by position (guard and frontcourt) within each conference, and rankings were established across the three voting blocs. Each athlete’s final score was determined by the average of their weighted ranks from fan votes, player votes, and media votes. The two guards and three frontcourt players who achieved the highest scores in each conference were designated as NBA All-Star Game starters.
The scoring formula for each player was structured as follows: (Fan Rank * 2 + Player Rank + Media Rank)/4, with weighting distributed as 50% for the fan vote, and 25% each for the player and media votes.

The announcement of the All-Star reserves is set for January 30, with selections made by coaches from the North American league.
French player Victor Wembanyama, currently ranked fourth in the frontcourt selections, and Slovenian Luka Doncic, who stands third among the guards in the West, are strong candidates for an All-Star inclusion.
Scheduled for February 16, the All-Star Game will introduce an innovative mini-tournament format featuring four teams and three matches, moving away from the conventional single-game setup. The 24 selected All-Stars will be divided into three teams, while a fourth team will comprise the winner from the Rising Stars Game.
