Thunder Quickly Move On: Daniel Theis Waived Just a Day After Trade Acquisition

The Oklahoma City Thunder have made an official announcement regarding the release of Daniel Theis. The 32-year-old German center was on a $2.1 million contract that was set to expire.

This news comes just one day after the Thunder acquired Theis, along with a second-round pick in 2031, from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for cash considerations.

With this move, the Thunder now have an available roster position that they can utilize to address other requirements.

As for Theis, he enters free agency, and it is quite likely that NBA title contenders will be interested in signing him to a minimum contract for the remainder of the season.

Additionally, during the summer, Theis was also pursued by Panathinaikos, the reigning champions of the EuroLeague.
