Giannis Antetokounmpo will be sidelined for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game due to a calf injury, and the announcement of his replacement has been made.
Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks has been selected by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to take the place of the injured Milwaukee Bucks forward on Team Chuck.
Antetokounmpo’s absence stems from a left calf strain. The nine-time All-Star was originally chosen for Team Chuck by general manager Charles Barkley, a TNT analyst.
Young will join an impressive lineup on Team Chuck, which includes Nikola Jokić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Pascal Siakam, Alperen Şengün, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Donovan Mitchell.
The 74th NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, February 16, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, as part of a new format featuring a four-team, three-game mini-tournament.
