Coming off the bench, Santi Aldama from Spain contributed six points and grabbed six rebounds in 21 minutes of play. Meanwhile, in an associated trade, the Sacramento Kings narrowly defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, winning 116-114 at Target Center. Lithuanian Domantas Sabonis contributed a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, but Ukrainian Alex Len did not play, and French newcomer Sidy Cissoko was inactive. For the Timberwolves, French center Rudy Gobert put up 19 points and 13 rebounds in a double-double effort, while Bosnian Luka Garza scored four points.
“We need to improve our starts,” Gobert commented. “This evening, the first quarter provided them with an early boost. When you begin the game by making many shots and getting comfortable, it can give the opposing team a sense of confidence. They have some excellent offensive players.”
At Spectrum Center, the Washington Wizards secured a 124-114 win against the Charlotte Hornets. French player Bilal Coulibaly shone with a game-high 26 points, shooting 9 for 16 from the field. Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas, stepping in for the injured Alex Sarr (left ankle sprain), recorded a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Similarly, Tidjane Salaun from France missed the game due to illness, while Moussa Diabate contributed five points and seven rebounds. Serbian Vasilije Micic, recovering from left ankle soreness, added 13 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
The Milwaukee Bucks faced a tough game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center, losing 125-96, with Giannis Antetokounmpo (right patella tendinopathy) among several key absences. French bench player Ousmane Dieng stood out with 21 points in 31 minutes, while German Isaiah Hartenstein contributed six points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Belgian Ajay Mitchell (right great toe surgery) and Serbian Nikola Topic (left knee surgery) were both unavailable.
In a thrilling contest at Little Caesars Arena, Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks to a narrow 132-130 victory against the Detroit Pistons, scoring a decisive basket in the final seconds. With Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic (personal reasons) and Swiss Clint Capela (back spasms) still out, French player Zaccharie Risacher scored 17 points, and Czech Vit Krejci added 13 points. For Detroit, Italian Simone Fontecchio managed to produce four points.
