The Milwaukee Bucks overcame the Miami Heat with a score of 120-113 at Fiserv Forum during NBA Sunday action.
This victory marked the Bucks’ fourth consecutive win in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, as Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered an impressive performance, notching a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds, along with seven assists, one steal, and one block.
Giannis played nearly 32 minutes, a notable increase compared to his earlier games where he had been under a minute restriction. Remarkably, this was the first time since last February that he did not attempt a free throw.
“I didn’t notice it,” he remarked in the postgame conference. “Sometimes I’ll get to the line, and sometimes I won’t, but that’s not something I rely on.”
On the losing side, Serbian Nikola Jovic had to exit early due to a fracture in the second metacarpal of his right hand, after contributing seven points and two rebounds. He recounted, “It happened in the first quarter. I just bumped into [Kyle] Kuzma. I’m not exactly sure what occurred, but I felt a lot of pain. It’s broken.”
The Heat did not provide an immediate timeline for his recovery.
“I’ve dealt with some tough injuries in the past. My mom always tells me that everything happens for a reason. Who knows why this happened today? I’ll figure it out,” Jovic added.
Swedish player Pelle Larsson did not participate in the game.
Additionally, Italian forward Simone Fontecchio injured his right hand during the second quarter of the game between the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks, where he had two points, one assist, and one rebound. Despite losing Fontecchio, his team celebrated their sixth consecutive win, clinching a 148-143 victory.
“We have a very unselfish group focused on winning. That’s why they’ve been playing at such a high level even before my arrival,” commented fellow European reserve Dennis Schroder, who scored 16 points along with seven assists, four rebounds, and one steal. Swedish player Bobi Klintman was assigned to the G League with the Motor City Cruise.
For the home team, French player Zaccharie Risacher notched 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Off the bench, Swiss player Clint Capela contributed eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Czech player Vit Krejci is still recovering from a lumbar fracture and was unable to play.
