DETROIT (AP) — Malik Beasley poured in 26 points, while Cade Cunningham contributed 21 points and 11 assists as the Detroit Pistons triumphed over the Boston Celtics 117-97 on Wednesday night, showcasing two of the NBA’s most formidably performing teams.

With this victory, the Pistons (33-26) achieved their eighth consecutive win, breaking a 12-game losing streak against Boston, just two nights after snapping a 10-game drought against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Detroit’s eight-game winning streak is now tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the longest active streak in the league.

The last time the Pistons enjoyed an eight-game (or longer) winning stretch was back in 2008 when they collected 10 wins in a row from January 23 to February 13.

That season, Detroit made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the sixth consecutive time but fell to the eventual champions, the Celtics.
