Jonas Valančiūnas has recently joined forces with Domantas Sabonis on the Sacramento Kings, and the Lithuanian partnership is beginning to flourish.
In a recent away victory over the Utah Jazz, which ended with a score of 101-118, Keegan Murray was the standout scorer, netting 26 points, but both Valančiūnas and Sabonis made significant contributions as well.
Valančiūnas logged 15 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in just under 14 minutes on the floor, while Sabonis came close to a double-double, finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
Additionally, two other European players made substantial impacts in their teams’ wins. Bogdan Bogdanović and Ivica Zubac were key players in the LA Clippers’ 117-122 triumph over the Chicago Bulls. Bogdanović made a pivotal three-pointer in the closing moments, giving his team a 115-110 advantage, and wrapped up the game with 14 points and six assists, while Zubac added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
In other matchups, Kristaps Porziņģis managed to score 11 points, but it wasn’t enough to save the Boston Celtics from a 117-97 defeat against the Detroit Pistons. The Toronto Raptors, guided by Darko Rajaković, also fell short against the Indiana Pacers, losing 111-91; Jakob Pöltl contributed 10 points and five boards to the effort.
O.G. Anunoby had a more successful outing, falling just one rebound short of a double-double with 16 points in the New York Knicks’ 110-105 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
In another game, Toumani Camara put up 11 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Deni Avdija contributed five points in the Portland Trail Blazers’ road win over the Washington Wizards, 121-129. Bilal Coulibaly scored 16 for the Wizards, with Tristan Vukčević and Kyshawn George adding eight and seven points, respectively.
Killian Hayes had an impressive game for the Brooklyn Nets, scoring 19 points and dishing out seven assists, yet his team lost to the OKC Thunder, 121-129. Isaiah Hartenstein contributed 13 points for the Thunder in their victory. Meanwhile, Hayes’ fellow countryman, Zaccharie Risacher, managed 11 points in the Atlanta Hawks’ 131-109 loss to the Miami Heat, with Clint Capela adding eight points.
Finally, Alperen Şengün posted nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Houston Rockets’ 118-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in their Texas showdown, while Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 12 points for the Spurs.
