Jeremiah Fears has officially entered the 2025 NBA Draft following a remarkable season at the University of Oklahoma.
On Wednesday, Fears took to social media to share his decision. The 6-foot-4 guard is widely anticipated to be a lottery selection. Over the course of the season, he averaged 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, playing a key role in leading the Sooners to the NCAA Tournament.
“This year has been an amazing experience, and I truly appreciate all the support from the OU community!” Fears expressed in his social media statement. “I would like to thank Coach (Porter) Moser and the entire coaching staff for believing in me and providing me the opportunity to display my talent at the University of Oklahoma.”
Trae Young, the notable former freshman from Oklahoma who was selected as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 draft and earned an All-Star spot with the Atlanta Hawks this season, has maintained communication with Fears.
“Jeremiah is destined to become a very strong player,” Young commented back in January. “Being one of the top recruits we’ve seen at OU recently, I’ve been following his progress closely.”
Fears had numerous standout performances that increased his visibility as a top prospect. He dropped 26 points in a game against Arizona and executed a late four-point play from 30 feet out that contributed to a nail-biting 87-86 victory over Michigan in the Jumpman Invitational. Additionally, he scored 22 points with four three-pointers in a narrow loss to No. 2 Florida.
In the Southeastern Conference Tournament, he netted 29 points in a triumph over Georgia. He also contributed 20 points in a defeat against Connecticut during the NCAA Tournament, keeping the Sooners competitive throughout the match.
